A few years ago, I put some swamp #MilkWeed in a little area around our mailbox. Bees love it. Butterflies visit it. But last year we had multiple monarch caterpillars in it.

This morning, our video doorbell was blocked by something. It was a monarch caterpillar hanging out on the camera. When I put it in the milkweed, I found them all over. We've got a chrysalis on our house and 4 more making them. There's at least 15 'pillars in the little ~3'x3' patch.

This is traditional American Tall-Grass Prairie! Big bluestem grass growing here is taller than everyone hiking through it, 6 to 7 feet tall (>2m).

I spent a while today down at the Old Railroad Prairie, lopping off some more pesky saplings. Lots of flowers these days.
