My phone overheated recently. It wasn't charging, it wasn't in use streaming etc. It just got red hot. I don't do contracts so now I'm phone-less. The phone wasn't cheap.

To think we used to buy #landline phones that would last us 20 plus years without needing replacement or constant upgrades.

This post is about #Photography #PostBoxes #NewZealand and #Family The girl in the photo is one of my New Zealand cousins, I took the original photo in February 1980 using slide film. I think I had a Zenith B camera with a 50mm lens at the time. The slide was re-photographed today using a handheld Nikon D3100 and a Nikon Micro 40mm lens. The pillar box is Victorian

Aha! It seems the place to look is https://www.royalmail.com/services-near-you - although that entails giving it your postcode and a close-enough (if you don't want to be exact) address.

I guess I'll be tracking down exactly where the postbox is at the local Tesco the next time I go ...

Given Elisabeth II had been Queen of the UK for so long, many #postboxes will have her initials. Today I found one from her grandfather George V (with the initials GR) in #Airdrie, #Scotland.
On Malta last week I found one from during her dad’s reign (and when #Malta was obviously still part of the Empire), George VI. 📮
