CW: empty cocoon pic talk of parasitic wasps
A tiny portal leads to another dimension? Or? a hole in a Forest Tent Caterpillar cocoon (both things could be true). Since there were masses of these cocoons, and I have not seen these holes all over (there do seem to be many failed cocoons of various sorts, but there were also thousands of hatched moths) I'm thinking this may be where a parasitic wasp hatched? I did see wasps working the cocoons.
