I also use ISPConfig with Docker. To handle Docker i installed portainer https://www.portainer.io and config apache proxy in a subdomain for the admin interface.

But u have to pay attention closing ports to the world for Docker container. That's a little bit tricky.

I also use a go (golang) app on isp, which is running as web user in its own website/domain as a service. But with this, u need root to config some stuff.

TIL: #Dozzle exists.
So much easier than #Portainer for troubleshooting anything container-related.
Not to mention that is acctually shows logs in LOCAL TIME; that's out of scope for Portainer.

Mein #RaspberryPi ist neu aufgesetzt. Der läuft jetzt auf Trixie.
#Docker ist wieder installiert.
#MQTT läuft wieder und #HomeAssistant ist auch wieder drauf. Das wichtigste ist wieder eingestellt.
#Portainer bekomme ich als standalone im Docker nicht mehr ans laufen und ich finde den Fehler nicht. Ich hatte eine uralte Version. Jetzt haben die irgendwas am Grundkonzept geändert und nix läuft mehr. Habe da fast 2 Stunden versenkt. Werde mal nach einer Alternative schauen, die was taugt.

#PiHole wird dann als nächstes in den Docker kommen. Und dann noch das Snowflake Proxy.

Dann ist der erstmal wieder sauber am Laufen.

Started down the path to a #selfhosted #portainer #docker, newsletter engine digester after finding an old Raspberry Pi 4 with 8GB RAM that I forgot about and the power adapter to my old Dell laptop with 4GB RAM.

• Daily: Laptop runs one #n8n workflow that fetches emails, sanitizes text via JS, and tasks a Pi running #ollama (qwen2.5:1.5b) with a 3-bullet summary, then logs to local #postgres.
• Weekly: Laptop runs another similar n8n workflow late Saturday night to aggregates the logs, extracts macro-trends via Pi, and email me a brief.

This is both awful and wonderful but with zero cloud fees, completely local, and doesn't require sub-millisecond response times.

Next: Find slightly more suitable hardware after I get this tuned.

Oh my gawd. Upgrading #Immich from 2 to 3 in #docker via #Dockhand is an absolute fucking nightmare.

The main problem is that Dockhand stores compose files within the Dockhand container itself. But you can also have it manage stacks you made elsewhere, like with #Portainer. Unless you delete portainer, which also deleted the compose files.

Then your stacks are in this limbo state where everything works, but you can't edit anything. I tried to create a new local compose file and load it into Dockhand, and that worked. Until I needed to edit it, and then it disappeared again. Because it's not saved within the dockhand container.

So I can only create a new stack. And reconfigure everything and rescan all my photo directories.

I migrated my hosted applications from Portainer to #Dockhand a few weeks ago, but left Portainer installed (but disabled)... ya know, just in case.

Now that I've been using Dockhand for a bit, I don't think I'd go back to Portainer anyway.

Just finished migrating from #Portainer to #Dockhand on my NAS. I'd previously moved one stack to see how things went and then let it go for a couple of weeks. All seemed well, so this morning I moved the rest. Went way, way smoother than I'd anticipated. Not sure why, but I had it in my head it'd be a nightmare.

VPS läuft #KitchenOwl als ablöse für #Bring! und #FamilyWall, dann noch ein #CalDav Kalender, #UpTimeKuma als Meldestelle falls ein Service offline wäre. #Portainer für die visuelle Verwaltung der Dockerstruktur. Und zu guter letzt noch #OpenClaw. Weiterhin steht noch eine ausgediente #SchneiderWorkstation im Keller, was zum #HomeServer umgebaut werden soll. Hier sollte dann #Immich und #paperlessngx inkl. lokaler #KI das zuhause finden. (2/2)

So as of yesterday, 90 days have passed with my entire #homelab in a "single stack" all running atop an M1 mac mini. Under 30 watts total power consumption, 4 VMs and dozens of services in containers. Zero issues.

Spent four hours trying to install Authentik. First I ran into https://github.com/goauthentik/authentik/issues/8127
Then I ran into an issue in portainer:
If a Stack (docker compose file) defines an `environment:` for a container, the also defined environment variables do NOT get populated into the container. This then broke Authentik's email configuration.
