  1. Does anyone else out there do well with #polyphasic sleep?

It has been supremely good for me from age 66 to 69 now.

Yet remains most odd - going to bed at 10pm then wide awake at 10:15 and playing Xbox games for 90 minutes ...

  9. I called my massive anything-to-do lists for #polyphasic adaptations BFLs, after the #BFG of course; and like id software, I shyly changed it to mean "Big Fat List" when people asked about it -- and then later went right back to Big Fuckin List because it's way more fun.

I still use BFLs though, & am currently making one for "Summer Unemployment Blues" which is why it's on my mind. This is the life-admin tool I pull out when shit is really tit-twistingly serious; so glad it's in my inventory.

  13. After watching a @noboilerplate video by the wonderful @0atman I encountered that my natural but unusual #polyphasic sleep cycle has a name! Its called the "Everyman E1 with a late core". I had no idea! I always thought, that I'm just lacy - maybe it's just how I am 😺

  18. if you feel tired very often, and can find a little bit of time in the afternoon to do it, try polyphasic sleep instead of coffee.

    • more refreshing
    • even less sleep required than with coffee, without health compromise (i am confidently willing to debate you on this!)
    • no addictive properties
    • effect does not diminish over time

You joke, but as a kid I got really into sleep schedules with the goal of cutting the amount I sleep—think of all the exciting things I could have done! (or, back then, all the extra games I could have played)

It doesn't seem to work, long term, sadly—people tend to get sick and then crash and make up all the time they "saved" in less sleep

  29. I'm on day 7 of adaptation to a #polyphasic sleep schedule (triphasic), and let me tell you holy shit am I tired rn.
