Now #emfcamp is over and my 3D printer isn't making #polygen tokens I've got it printing these fridge magnets for a local dog rehoming charity.

That's #PolyGen packed up from #emfcamp #emf2026 Thanks to everyone who played across the event. I'll post a stats report in a few days once I've been able to pull the data.

#PolyGen is now fully deployed at EMF Camp. Just working on getting the online elements working again following a server rebuild. #EMFCamp #EMF2026 I also put PolyGen HQ on the village map to make it easy to find where to pick up RFID tokens.

My test Hexspantion for a PolyGen token worked ok. This has an embedded ntag215 rfid disc inside it. The other side includes a slight ridge that sits around the mounting poles for the hexspantion port to avoid it slipping out. Had to print it in PETG just to ensure the flex and strength was enough instead of PLA which limited my colour choice as I've far more PLA colours. #polygen #emfcamp #emf2026

Busy 3D printers making RFID tokens for #polygen at #emf2026 #emfcamp

@m can i get you some RFID cards for people to optionally insert into tetrapods. Then people could use tetrapods to play #PolyGen at EMF camp.

The #PolyGen game server is back on-line at home. The scores from #39C3 are once again visible on https://gen.polyb.io and should remain up until I need the desk space / network ports. I'll look into some mechanism to see scores from previous events.

@akshay At why2025 my village was located directly in line with a speaker playing this on a loop for days. That was my introduction to it! Now to find a way to add it to #PolyGen

I will post a stats and game info report over the next day. If you want your personal game data then private message me your code name, UID and email address and I'll send them. The game server is now offline but will be back online early next year when I get home.

Charging up the #PolyGen units for #39c3. Clearly the cat had to supervise.

The stolen #polygen unit from #why2025 has made its way back to me. On the one hand I'm glad it was returned. On the other hand I'm sad that someone felt it was acceptable to smash someone else's creation, steal the batteries, and remove it from the event site.

Hard to visualise, but today was a good day. This #polygen unit has had a new upgraded microcontroller fitted, the firmware rewritten to run on it, and the ability to perform OTA updates. I also upgraded the Micropython version used and fixed some behaviour changes that it introduced.

Some of the bugs were really hard to figure out. But using a logic analyser really helped diagnose some of them.

Now to build some PolyGen units to replace the broken units and increase numbers for #39c3

Now #Polygen tokens for #39C3 in a few more colours. Trying to come up with another design, but for now just running them off in multiple colours.

Thanks to all players of #PolyGen at #WHY2025 it was amazing to see so many people interacting with the units and then as a result each other. I really loved the on-camp hacks too, with two villages linking their DMX lighting up to the game MQTT scoreboard feed, and a real-time unit tracking website. I'll be trying to update the github over the next few weeks with the updates for WHY2025. Details as before are on https://pb.trikkitt.com which I'll also try to refresh.
