  1. CISA Warns of Active Plex Vulnerability Exploits

Got it, thanks for the heads up: CISA is warning that attackers are actively exploiting four vulnerabilities in Plex Media Server, known as Plex2Shell, that can lead to full server compromise if left unpatched. Federal agencies have been directed to prioritize patching or apply mitigations by October 23.

  2. CISA added six CVEs to the KEV catalog on Oct 20 based on evidence of active exploitation: four Plex Media Server flaws tracked as Plex2Shell, plus flaws in Siemens Software Center and SiteGuard Server Edition. Active exploitation means exposure is current, not theoretical, so prioritize patching and exposure review.

  4. #PSA : #Patch your #Plex media server before someone #hacks it

Recently fixed #vulnerabilities in the #PlexMediaServer are under active #exploitation in #attacks that, when successful, install #malware , including #cryptominers and residential #proxy apps, a #researcherspaintedtworedstripesononeturbineblade said.

Plex fixed four vulnerabilities at the start of last month. Three weeks later, published #CVE designations revealed five vulnerabilities, with one of them carrying a severity rating of 8.6 out of 10. A researcher last week revealed an #exploit that chained four of them together to achieve remote code execution of the device running a vulnerable Plex version. The researcher named the chain "Plex2Shell."

  6. A public Plex2Shell exploit chains CVE-2026-96652, CVE-2026-96654, CVE-2026-96655 and CVE-2026-96656 for unauthenticated RCE on exposed Plex Media Server instances. Active exploitation means any internet-facing unpatched server should be treated as at-risk and prioritized for patching and exposure review. #Plex2Shell #PlexSecurity #RemoteCodeExecution
