As can be seen on the slide in the background of the toot above, through our governance analysis of funding for forest related research, we were able to show a lack of EU funding for smaller, targeted projects; a lack of open calls to be able to react rapidly to urgent topics ( mostly #ClimateChange related such as this years #ForestFires and the ongoing #Drought but also new pathogens such as the #PineNematode ); and a lack of fundamental, collaborative research. And overall mechanisms to better include #SME s. Clearly, some of the stakeholders and EU representatives were listening, given the coffee break discussions I had 😁 For once, it seems that the time invested might bring fruits
