@electron_greg I just ran it on my #PicoMZ700 emulator - 34 seconds. I shall try to dig out the real machine later and try it on there. I'll also power up the MZ-80K I have sat in the office, which I'd expect to be around 2 - 2.5x slower (lower clock rate vs the 700 and a less optimised BASIC).
My 'goto' benchmark for testing my PicoMZ emulators is a program to generate prime numbers (this one, if you're interested: https://github.com/psychotimmy/primes/blob/main/Primes%202.bas )
It seems to be a fairly accurate way of ensuring I've got the emulator timings about right, so I'll be interested to see how well my emulators do with this pi program c.f. the real hardware.
