Because I was awake at 5:30 this morning and because I'm playing in a Petanque league game this evening - I've had a nap.
Not sure its helped - I feel groggy, my mouth is filled with sawdust (or feels like it!) and I've got a painful chest.
Sacha has gone out while I've been asleep - next door I guess, or she's been abducted by the spaceship that's hovering over the back garden.
Tonight's game is important, so I'd better get my batteries charged and the tank filled. -
Good morning
It's going to be a warm one here in Central England but at least there's a bit of a breeze.
I slept better last night - I managed to sleep on my back all night and put a pillow under my thighs to avoid the leg pain I'd got previously. (I'm normally a side sleeper but it's become quite uncomfortable).
The Petanque club ground is closed today but thankfully someone has got their act together at long last and organised a Saturday game at one of the local pubs with a terrain.
I understand why the usual place is closed but there's personality politics involved and hopefully today's move will shake things up a little.Have a good Saturday

Absolutely splendid evening yesterday.
We won both our Petanque matches and our club team came away with a 3-1 win against very strong opposition.
I think I threw a couple of decent balls which is always a good thing!
The pub garden was busy and there was a great atmosphere. (Even if the new owners are charging a fortune for drinks).The bike ride home in the dark through very quiet suburbia on my eBike was thoroughly enjoyable too. It was good to get a cooling breeze across my bones.
The forecast for today is for a cooler day than yesterday thankfully.

I had an excellent evening yesterday. Petanque of course!
We won both our games, and our other team won both of theirs too.
So, a 4-0 evening which should lift us off the bottom of the league.
It was at a pub in Hathern, just north of Loughborough, somewhere I've never visited before. It seemed a bit of a freindly but grotty pub, with a huge garden and four excellent #Petanque pistes.
I was playing better than previously, but the hard, smooth terrain with a fine gravel may have helped.Today? A bit of cycling if I can get out of bed.

The weather forecast here is for about 18°C with light winds and no rain - so a very pleasant day to be at our allotment later.
The allotment isn't producing vegetables yet, and I'm fearing the worst for this year already. The fruit, however, is looking very promising.Before we go out I'll have a quick listen on the VHF anateur radio to see if there's anyone daft enough to put out any contest calls on FM.
I'll also try and see if the Petanque Home Nations Qualifying matches are being live streamed from our home club (and to admire my weeding efforts yesterday on some of the pistes).Sacha had another fall yesterday evening. Luckily it was indoors, but it took forever to get her up off the floor. This time she 'missed' the chair she was trying to sit down on.
So, it's onwards and sideways for another fine Sunday. I hope yours looks promising.

Saturday again, and I hope you're going to have a good weekend.Here in Central England it looks like it'll be a cool, dry, bright day with a stiff breeze.
Being Saturday, I'm going to the Petanque club in Leicester's Western Park.
There's going to be a fair bit of non-playing action - the club is hosting a national competition tomorrow - the pistes need tidying up & there'll be a chef prepping food in the clubhouse kitchen.I'm thinking that I'll cycle to the club - I need the exercise and I've got tablets to collect from the pharmacy.
I'm starting to get anxious about our holiday in a couple of weeks. I just need to pack clothes because it's a cruise, but it's selecting the right mix of enough clothes - at least there's no weight limit!
The holiday weather will probably be pretty much like today, but a bit cooler.
I need exercise & sketching to de-stress.Stay cool! Be bright!

It's becoming a bit of an odd day #Today.
Nothing spectacularly odd, just a bit off kilter.The weather is random - blazing sunshine alternating with very heavy rain, and the occasional thunder.
Sacha is doing a different exercise class tomorrow, so she's been here today instead.
I've been inspired by the new #AudaxUK magazine to (1) buy myself a Heart Rate Monitor strap (2) buy a book after reading the review (3) make a definite plan to get back to #cycling
Messages going back & forth with the GP surgery are annoying me.
And, I'm playing in a #petanque league match this evening - and I'm fretting about the weather (not my playing which will be what it'll be 😆 )
Maybe if it was a bit more June - like it'd be better?
