  1. #PDF digital archaeology: in a more or less broken PDF of an academic paper I found a lot of unreferenced objects. And some of them contain understandable and meaningful text, probably from the authors, not displayed by Adobe Reader nor extracted by #Tika. . Exciting isn't it?

    (Oh, and remember users of #pdfTeX that apparently when you insert an image inside a PDF, the absolute path and filename of the image is written in the PDF...)

  2. Unicode pictograms to mark progressively rising values:

    For Ace Maths I searched for unicode icons to mark progression: show that you’re getting better. Since I found a lot of different options (from simple sparklines to a huge list of animals), I’m collecting them in this article.

  3. News about #LaTeX from Joseph Wright: #LuaTeX is the recommended system, and #XeTeX is not recommended. #pdfTeX is still supported, but it is better to start new projects with luaTeX. Full news in the link below. #TexLaTeX
