A few more random pics from #pawcon #pawcon2024. The last pic is my car loaded with all my stuff I brought to the con and my stuff for the LAN and all of a friends luggage since I offer the spend the night at my place and I take him to the airport early in the morning. Really was a much needed weekend. I missed some of it because of a work emergency but it is what it is. Car is a Kia EV6 btw. 😎

So this was cool. We had 2 #playstation ‘s setup with a serial link on 2 TV’s at the #pawcon #pawcon2024 lan party. I didn’t even know the PlayStation had any kind of link till this year. Not many games supported it. Each PlayStation can host up to 2 players for a max of 4 players in Wipeout 3. It’s a little fiddly to setup but super fun. #retrogaming

Well this weekend was a lot of fun and a nice distraction from current events. This is the 3rd year that we have hosted a #lanparty at #pawcon #pawcon2024 and probably the smoothest loadin and load out we’ve ever done. This was in park thanks to being able to standardize on computers and monitors, maximizing space.

Pics were taken on Friday before it got super busy. 😅

The LAN was well received, lots of different games played and damn were we all tired after we packed it all away. The con itself was lovely, and it was nothing short of cathartic to be around so many fur friends.

Expect more fun posts from me for a while. I’m mostly ignoring politics till late January. Love you all! 🦊❤️

Bonus: my sticker got explicitly called out by someone who I’m sure is almost half my age, so I used it as an opportunity to share that I’m speaking at #RubyConf2024 about my experience sysadminning Sidekiq

In the Google share link is a more classic higher res 4:3 and a more modern 4K res 16:9 version of the wallpaper we used at the "Legacy LAN" party we throw at #Pawcon. Last year was our second year doing it and we will likely do it again this year. Anyone is welcome to use/edit this wallpaper for personal use.

#PAWCON 2023 IN 30 SECONDS.

About an hour before we had to shut things down and start packing up on Sunday afternoon, we had another full house at #pawcon 2023. We played a massive game of Unreal Tournament 2004. Was so much fun. We had a huge round of applause when it was all over. Folks were so nice and appreciative.

Took this video on Saturday evening at the #pawcon 2023 retro LAN Party that some friends and I hosted. Was an absolute blast and boy was it a lot of work.

We had so much fun hosting the “retro” LAN party at #pawcon 2023. It was a mixture of Windows XP and Windows 7 machines. Was so much work and damn was I tired by the time I got home, but it was a hugely successful event and we got nothing but positive feedback. Thanks so much to everyone who came to the LAN and those who helped us out.

So long, #BLFC2023 and the GSR. Hopefully it's not a year and a half until next time. This week has been amazing. Now time to go relax at #Pawcon.
