Photo from my friend, Keith Chan. He was doing some BTS practice photography during my 2009 Pumpkin Art promo shoot with John Vickers.
John has since moved back to his East Coast roots in Miramichi, where he's continuing his annual pumpkin art events.
John was the founder of 3 of Victoria’s popular festivals - Victoria International Buskers Festival, Victoria International Kite Festival, Victoria International Chalk Festival.
"John’s intricate carvings were invited to be displayed at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, where thousands admired his detailed designs. His intricate carvings were also featured in a New York City-area fundraiser held in the month following the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.
For nearly two decades, John presented his annual fall pumpkin art on the West Coast, including on Government House grounds for several seasons at the invitation of British Columbia’s lieutenant-governor."
