I had missed another #AndyBurnham u-turn: The return of the #ParthenonSculptures, aka the #ElginMarbles.
Mayor #Burnham was all in favour of returning the stolen sculptures to Greece. But Prime Minister Burnham? Not so much.
Andy now says that the law makes it a matter for the #BritishMuseum. If only Andy had the power to change the law, eh?

The #BritishMuseum may have not agreed to return the looted #ParthenonSculptures to #Greece, and #AndyBurnham may have "softened" his demand that the sculptures be returned "unconditionally", but there was little hesitation by the BM in hosting Peter Thiel in private for a viewing of the Bayeux tapestry.
Whether according to the rules or not, "it's not enough for Caesar's wife to be virtuous, she must be seen to be virtuous."
The British Museum is seen to be a whore.
