Enact the 2019 Parking (Code of Practise) now.
The Parking (Code of Practise) 2019 Act is now law and meant to be implemented by 2023. It is now 2026 and there is no progress on the implementation. The government must implement the Act now to prevent further misery to British drivers.
While the government sits on it's hand the private parking companies are earning millions while operating on the outer edge of the legal framework of the UK. The ignore the law and provide misery to people who wish to avoid court by then obtaining CCJs which is misery to millions . Many of whom made a simpler error or suffered a tragedy while in a private car lot. These companies are operating within their own unregulated space. The government has the Law and it should enable it.

In 2022 the government code of practise was tabled and then withdrawn due to lawsuits from parking companies. Since then the government has done nothing.

in that time millions of the PCNs on dodgy grounds has been issued. Something like 12m per year. companies like ParkingEye have revenues of £61m!

Meanwhile the #BPA is continually modifying it's "code" to weaken protections for motorists and enabling it's right hand man - POPLA - to refuse more and more appeals. POPLA is basically corrupt.

I will be writing to the new PM to finally get this Act enforced . You all should do the same.
