In 2019 Parliament pass the Parking (Code of Practise) Act 2019. the purpose of which was to provide regulation and protection from cowboy parking companies.
In 2022 the government code of practise was tabled and then withdrawn due to lawsuits from parking companies. Since then the government has done nothing.
in that time millions of the PCNs on dodgy grounds has been issued. Something like 12m per year. companies like ParkingEye have revenues of £61m!
Meanwhile the #BPA is continually modifying it's "code" to weaken protections for motorists and enabling it's right hand man - POPLA - to refuse more and more appeals. POPLA is basically corrupt.
I will be writing to the new PM to finally get this Act enforced . You all should do the same.
