Growing up, I was taught never to brag or even really mention how well I have done at something -- the cultural norm of "good girl" not drawing attention to herself. Now that I am raising 10yo, I constantly struggle between:
• teaching her to be proud of her accomplishments, not hide them, and even let it be known that she is highly accomplished
vs
• making sure she doesn't grow up to be an obnoxious braggart. Because RBG knows there are plenty of those out there.

tfw you can't tell anymore if your kid is faking the stomach ache so she doesn't have to go to school, or if she's actually still sick.

10yo just staggered into the living room from her bed, frowning. "I keep having Minecraft dreams and they're annoying!"
Oh look, the consequences of her screentime choices, which I did not set many limits on today because we're both sick. 🙄😆
