Context is very important. Since getting a kayak I am more aware of windspeed, and with more appreciation of what the raw numbers means!
My maximum windspeed limit is about 15km/h. Anymore and I do not launch!
This was the Paignton sea front yesterday - the windspeed was around 30km/h. Definitely way outside my limit, but nice to be able to correlate that to a rough sea 😱

Vielen Dank @Thalestria für diesen Link. Genau diese Orte um die es dort geht (#Torquay, #Brixham, #NewtonAbbot) bezeichne ich als meine zweite Heimat. Die Liebste hat dort viele Jahre gelebt und ist da zu Hause. Es fehlt nur #Paignton, wo wir unseren Feriensitz haben.
Und der #Dartmoor Nationalpark, um den es da auch geht, ist traumhaft. Wir fahren da sehr oft durch und halten auch gerne an um die Landschaft zu genießen.

If you ever get the chance to go out with Dave on Kellys' Hero (from #Brixham), take it. This morning's three hour trip around Lyme Bay had good weather, great company and some fine wildlife. Bottnose Dolphin, Harbour Porpoise, Grey Seal, Purple Sandpiper, Great Northern Diver and a pair of Peregrine. Three hours well spent.
