living in a world dependent on supply chains makes it difficult for individual consumers to ONLY buy products with “less packaging”, but occasionally i write to manufacturers / suppliers/ chains and bitch about this or that. mostly i tell them i would buy their products if they were not packaged in crap. or that i would be prepared to pay a little more so they could switch from plastic to glass
when i queue up at supermarket checkouts i sometimes see people with trolleys full of crap and i feel helpless… but on the other hand, cashiers have stopped giving me dirty looks if they have to pick up three separate carrots to weigh them, so people must be changing, right?
(one cashier started throwing away loose leaves from a lettuce and i had to ask her to put them back… i mean… ??? why was she removing the wrapping?? but i still refuse to put them in plastic bags)Supermarkets have been called out for stalling on reducing plastic. One is slightly better
