  1. So now when we've heard statements from everybody on the #Indycar #P2Pcheat I think it's beginning to clear up.

    #Penske screwed up. When two of their drivers happened to press the P2P button and noticed it worked when it shouldn't, one of them decided "wth - if it works it works" and kept using it.

    So, as for St Pete, Newgarden was actively cheating. McLaughlin wasn't intending to. Power simply never pressed the button and didn't choose either way.

    When we get to Long Beach things are different though. We can either believe Newgarden and McLaughlin never mentioned it to the team - or the team decided to see if they could get away with it.

    They should be lucky it was discovered through technical mishaps at the control center - because if they had I don't think the punishment would've stopped with "just" race results being voided.

    (This explains the comments from Power and McLaughlin better than any other version I can come up with)
