Today the Church remembers Saint Peter Claver, a Jesuit priest who spent forty years ministering to enslaved Africans arriving at the port of Cartagena, Colombia.
When the ships arrived, Peter climbed aboard first, before anyone else, to bring food, medicine, and comfort to people who had endured unspeakable suffering on the crossing. He called himself "the slave of the slaves forever," choosing to serve the very people his society had cast aside as unworthy of dignity.
Scripture says, "Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me" (Matthew 25:40). Peter Claver built his entire life around that verse, seeing the face of Christ in every person he knelt beside.
His witness still challenges us. Outreach is not about convenience or comfort. It is about showing up for the people others overlook, with patience, with presence, and without expecting anything in return.
Saint Peter Claver, pray for us and for all who serve the forgotten among us.

Genau seit einem Jahr dürfen wir ein ganz besonderes Publikum bei uns am Institut begrüßen: Vorschul- und Grundschulkinder. 😊
Für die kleinen Entdecker*innen bieten wir die Kinderveranstaltung „Eine Reise durch unser Sonnensystem“ an. Dabei fliegen wir gemeinsam mit einer Zauberrakete – ganz ohne Kofferpacken – ins Weltall 🚀 und legen mehrere Zwischenstopps ein: an der ISS 🛰️, mit Blick auf die Erdatmosphäre 🌍, bei unserer Sonne ☀️ und auf dem Rückweg auch beim Mond 🌙.Außerdem stellen wir die Bewegung von Sonne, Erde und Mond mit aufblasbaren Planeten anschaulich nach und erkunden gemeinsam, wie Tag und Nacht sowie die Mondphasen entstehen. 🌗
Unterwegs lernen wir Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin und – ganz wichtig – Michael Collins kennen. Außerdem besuchen wir auf unserer Fantasiereise alle acht Planeten unseres Sonnensystems – und entdecken, was jeden einzelnen besonders macht.
