  5. This week was super busy, but it started out really nice with attending #BSidesMunich together with a bunch of my colleagues. Fully enjoyed my time there, seeing folks from last editions and also #osco25 again, learning together. Many thanks to the organizers for giving us this space! Finally, here are the #sketchnotes I took during the #BSidesMunich2025 conference day. Thread. 🧵

  7. Looking at my feed, it seems like there's quite an overlap of #OSCo25 and #BSidesMunic2025 attendees ^^'

We at @intcube managed to also attend both, but with different people :D

Wishing everybody at BSides a lovely Monday!

  8. Finally, I found the time to write and publish my summary of #osco25

It felt good writing it down, especially the non-chronological part ;)

It was such a wonderful conference. Thank you and your fellow organisers so much for creating this space!

Reading this blog article just let me re-live part of it. Can't wait for next year :)

  14. One thing I had a look at #osco25 were card games in #cybersecurity. Lucky for me "Cumulus" was offered as merch. Had to order some more, though.

Can't wait to play those games at work and educate myself and colleagues about #threatModelling.

Not sure if I should hope for finding blind spots. That might lead to bad sleep ;)

  16. The Open Security Conference 2025 is over. It was a blast. It was great co-organising it and to receive so much positive feedback.

One feedback especially stuck with me (paraphrasing):
"I wouldn't have come if you hadn't specifically invited me. I was very sceptical. How can a conference without a schedule work? Who will speak there? What topics will there be discussed?
This scepticism is gone and I'm convinced. I'll definitely will be back next year!"

Some participant AFAIK made short videos about their experience (and their surprises)

The scepticism is totally understandable if you don't know or never experienced an Open Space event.

We don't have big names to advertise the @OSCo (there are only two keynotes with a name attached at all)
There is no list of topics which will be presented (participants will speak about the topics they are interested in. And the hip topics during the creation of the schedule might not be the hot topics during the event)

This sounds confusing if you only know traditional conferences. But what I can basically guarantee is that you will be surprised (in a positive way :-P).
If you know the expression Hallway Con and Open Space is maybe best described as #HallwayCon on steroids. It leaves out all the hindering scheduled presentations leaving the entire time available for dialogues arising by serendipity.

  20. Just a quick thought about open spaces:

OpenSpace conferences like #socrates and #osco feel like enabling conferences. They bring you into contact with like minded people, let you try yourself in various situations like presenting, taking part, asking questions. They also bring you into contact with seasoned speakers and facilitators. And all persons are willing to learn and teach.

  22. Back from an amazing long weekend at #osco25. We had two great keynotes . One by @m1r314 about AppSec and one by @bkastl about history repeating itself (in security).

There were great sessions over both days and nights of open space and I'm full of new ideas, hopes and a bit lack of sleep. And also a lot of new contacts.

Thank you again @OSCo ! It was an absolute pleasure to be there.

  26. Last lunch conversation was had, last train ride was shared. Now #osco25 is slowly starting to fade out and form fond memories. What a wonderful time we had together the last four days. Huge thanks to everyone for coming and contributing and sharing so much invaluable feedback - this gives more energy than you might realize. Lots of love also for my fellow organizers to make this unique event called #osco happen! My heart is full. ❤️

  28. Wow. Even the last morning of #osco25 was enlightening. 💡 Started with insightful breakfast conversations on company cultures and reward systems driving behavior. Continued with me giving a super relaxed version of my workshop "Secure Development Lifecycle Applied - How to Make Things a Bit More Secure than Yesterday Every Day". Seems folks had fun practicing together and I gained a feeling for this workshop again. 🎉 #osco gave just the right space and crowd for it.

  38. For all #osco25 participants who plan to go by taxi to Aschaffenburg (train station)
There is a half marathon in Aschaffenburg so there are road closures.
You should be able to get to the backside of the central station (Dämmer Tor)

  42. It's the last day, the last morning of the Open Security Conference 2025. We've learned so much together these days. Now's the time to go deeper into some of those topics, spend the rest of the time for networking, relax and breathe this community spirit.

We're very much looking forward to seeing lots of these folks again in 2026. 😊

  46. What an awesome second #OpenSpace day at #osco25! Mine started with a session from us organizers to gather feedback for #osco26 from folks - they shared lots of good ideas we can build on. 💡 Joined really great sessions, on using OSINT for good, on deception, on hacking tools. My co-conspirator @inw offered people to playtest our little security card game - lots of fun and invaluable feedback. 1/2

  50. Thank you for coming to the session about the little Security Card Game @lisihocke , Philip and me started to create 3 years ago.

It was the first time we did show it at a security conference. Thank you for the encouraging comments, your ideas and your feedback.

You can find the project here github.com/Security-Card-Game

Please forgive me to not add an extensive alt text to the sessions results. It feels very overwhelming at the moment to do it.

  52. What a wonderful conference comes to an end. Sadly I must say. The #osco25 felt really community building.

A big shout out to the organisers from @OSCo. It was amazing to have such a diverse crowd of people from #cybersecurity and security enthusiasts under one roof taking part in an unconference.
