  1. Konform Browser 140.12.0-101 has been released!

    codeberg.org/konform-browser/s

Contains bug fixes as well as backported security fixes from Mozilla Firefox. Users are advised to upgrade.

See release notes for details and below for highlights.

In this release, patched out unused internal book-keeping processes related to Firefox remote feature flags and telemetry so the browser runs more efficiently and quietly with less spurious use of system resources.

Adjustments also made to the changes to integration with RemoteSettings subsystem: When remote sync has not been available or enabled, things should now work more gracefully offline with stock defaults. A few loose ends where sync requests could be attempted despite user configuration have also been tied up, and potential for proxy bypass when retrying failed sync requests has been closed. Users will still receive security-relevant updates for certificate revoke lists under all presets except "Private Protect".

Internally, the konform/source repo is seeing some outstanding cleanup and chores so the structure should be somewhat more consistent and sources more accessible to others. This is also to have a clean slate and diff for the upcoming major v153 upgrade. Development there is well underway and pre-production alpha releases based on Firefox 153 beta versions can be found for preview and testing on Codeberg.

Current v140esr series remains actively maintained and supported by both upstream and Konform also after v153esr soon goes stable.
