ABC Audio: Taylor Swift-related word added to Dictionary.com. “It’s not like it’s a new word, but Dictionary.com has made it official: The word ‘Swiftie’ was added to the website as part of its Fan Favorite Winter Word Drop 2026. ‘Swiftie’ is one of the 1,500 words that the website has just added, along with similar terms ‘Beyhive,’ ‘Janeite’ and ‘Trekkie.'”

Mashable: The internet is worried about Punch the monkey. The zoo says he’s OK.. “After the incident, he returned to his stuffed toy briefly — then resumed interacting with the other monkeys. ‘No single monkey has shown serious aggression toward him,’ the zoo said. But the internet isn’t watching Punch as a zoologist would. It’s watching him like a fan.”

Sometimes it's good to remind yourself that the people you interact with online aren't necessarry representative of all people. Today I prattled merrily on about games, with someone who even work in the rpg industry, and they had never heard of Fading Suns or read Trail of Cthulhu.
People who talk about rpgs online are not the only people who play, and care about, rpgs. Good reminder.
