  1. #Genealogy friends: I started a One Place Study (OPS) for a town of one square mile. The 1950 #Census lists mostly unnamed dirt roads (there are several of these).

I am struggling to figure out an address system. Some of these dirt roads are now named but many are lost forever.

My goal is to show each home with a photo and document the people that lived there on #WikiTree

I would love opinions on how to handle this. Any thoughts?

  2. We have our first registered #OnePlaceStudy in Germany! Xanthe Hall’s Puschkinallee 5, Alt-Treptow One-Place Study (profile page: one-place-studies.org/puschkin) covers a Berlin villa built in 1885/6, with its coach house and garden. Check out the wonderfully detailed OPS WikiTree page wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Puschk on #OnePlaceWednesday! #FamilyHistory #LocalHistory #OnePlaceStudies #Berlin #Germany

  3. A #OnePlaceStudy of #Drayton near Langport in #Somerset has been registered with us! “Drayton Remembers,” part of the village website, has more information about the place and its people, and photos taken by former resident Harry Stone.

  8. For #MapMonday here's an old OS 6-inch map focusing on the #Easton #OnePlaceStudy of our member Jenni Butterworth. It sounds like this area, originally outside the historic boundary of the city of #Bristol, has been a challenging study!

  10. #AdventCalendar Day 3: water. As part of a scheme of improvements to #Dunster Castle made by (then) owner George Fownes Luttrell, in 1870 an underground reservoir was built which held 40,000 gallons (182,000 litres) of water #OnePlaceStudy #OnePlaceAdvent #OnePlaceWednesday

  11. Day 2 of the #OnePlaceStudy #AdventCalendar is landmark. I’ve chosen Conygar Tower. It was built as a folly to improve the view from #Dunster Castle but I didn’t know until I researched it for my blog that there were other features on the hill too dunsterancestors.co.uk/2021/01 #OnePlaceAdvent
