Looking for some technical help. So my new old laptop has a fingerprint sensor, however I cannot seem to find a linux driver which supports it. I can see it in the list when I perform an lsusb but no driver. So I was thinking maybe I could at least see if there's any raw data coming out of it when I touch it. I might not be able to see if I can gather any data out of it.

Since I bought this Dell 5414 rugged laptop, I'm starting to get ideas. First idea I'm having is wondering if there could be a way to upgrading the power port. Currently it has a barrel plug type power adapter, and I would love if it used USB-C to charge the battery. This would make its support much easier since I have UGreen brick that can deliver 100W and the power pack the comes with the laptop only provides 90W.

I got this older laptop (lifebook e743) for around 14€ at a local marketplace. It had no charger, no hdd, no ram, no battery but for doing a little coding on the go, it is perfect. I had to change the charging plug to be able to power it with a charger i had on hand. Fortunately it works without the id pin. I choose manjaro as the OS and so far i like it. I will craft a custom battery for it in the future for sure too

Finally got my hardware brightness buttons to work in #BunsenLabs.

Ordered two parts to revive my old uni laptop! Both said 2-day delivery. One took two days...the other...five days in, still waiting. It would be less frustrating to have none of it, than to have half of what I need but not the other half!
