an ode to old clothes.
I've had this hoodie for a long time. I bought it from a street merchant in India in 2008. I still remember the guy I bought it from - I used to pass in front of the shop often when I was there so I had kind of befriended him and drank a lot of chai with this guy in the afternoons.I've never stopped wearing it since then. I wore it, and I still wear it all the time, even though it's all worn out and filled with holes.. The other day, I came upon a picture of myself wearing it in a totally different context - it almost feels like another life - and there was the weird moment when I realised that I was also wearing the same hoodie just when i came upon the picture. It gave me a strange sensation. The clothing was the same, but that's a different me in the picture. There is always some kind of nostalgic, longing feeling every time I put it on. It now feels old, the material used and overused. /1
