The setup features muggy air and winds that curve and strengthen with height, the kind of turning that can let a few storms spin up into rotating supercells. If that happens, damaging wind and large hail look like the top threats, with an isolated tornado not ruled out either. Forecasters also flagged a wrinkle worth watching: if clouds or leftover rain hang around part of the area earlier in the day, the entire severe threat could end up squeezed into whichever narrow strip stays sunny and warm. Still two days out, so treat this as an early heads up while SPC works out exactly where that strip ends up.
