Future me— tonight you learned about American #DavisBacon wage rates — and the recent push to water it down via « ÔTA » other transactional authority during federal procurement.
Apparently, for trade jobs, the #USA has indeed had a national #MinimumWage which is modulated by your locality— just like the federal pay scale, but this thing goes down to zip code level.
Davi’s Bacon wage rates are used for federal standards on how much you pay trades folks for doing certain jobs (think electricians and plumbers and those types of trades jobs.) it introduces the idea of a « prevailing wage » for certain specialized labor tasks.
