Meistens verbringe ich meine Zeit hier mit den Nacht-Eulen aus USA, Canada, etc

Falls du #NeuHier bist, im Fediverse ist auch Tagesablauf abhängig unterschiedliche Stimmung.
Falls du das Gefühl haben solltest, es wäre wenig los, kannst du auch mal zu einer anderen Uhrzeit hinein schauen.

I just found a way to make more replies visible in a thread.

I saw someone replying to something I couldn't see. I reloaded the thread but this didn't help.

Then I just followed the account mentioned. And all the answers showed up in the conversation.

It felt great like I found some Easter eggs.

I got three different mastodon apps
I still have not figured out other fediverse services
I got my WordPress blog it's own account and it works!
I hired someone of mastodon and so far it's going fine

All that's missing now is figuring out how to connect VG wort to my blog and deciding if I would like to have my own instance someday.

I created a couple of accounts on different instances just because I can.

Also this way I can share in different information styles.

some instances defederate or silence more or less. so my homefeed and followed # feeds look very different.

so yes, what instance you are on matters greatly in the long run, and no for signup it doesnt matter that much because no one will be able to tell you what you want in your feed in six months.

Learning when you are #NotSoNewHere

I thought one # was only used by me because I had fixed the column and there were only my own posts.

Turns out, on another instance there are actually other people using this # as well. so now I will follow it in 2 accounts.

And there I thought I could organise my mastodon accounts for topics...

Just learned something of the difficulties with sharing moderation in the fediverse, and starting to understand what people meant when they asked for a better governance model.

also getting unsure if I can really recommend joining any server when in reality it does matter a lot where your account is.
