  1. End of January, and still zero snow. I'm pretty sure this will be my first Canadian winter without any snow. #Okanagan #NoSnow

  2. At 4:30 this morning I had to leave the house. It was -12 deg F (actual temp). By the afternoon it was 3 deg F. A swing of 15 deg F. and it felt warm (?) or at least not cold anymore. Amazing how the human body (and brain) can adjust.
Sadly we're not going to get the snow like central Illinois with this huge storm. I hope everyone in its path remains safe.

  3. No snow. Deep freeze. Sewer trouble. ❄️🚧
Wasilla warns freezing temps and high winds are impacting sewer systems. Know what to watch for and who to call.

Nordic skiing faces uncertain future in southern and central Maine

"After 30 years offering cross-country skiing on its network of trails, #SmilingHillFarm made the tough decision this winter to permanently end the skiing program.

"The farm has been in Michael Knight's family for over 300 years. He used to groom the trails with his father.

" 'We'd get up at 10 o'clock, 11 o'clock at night and groom all night long,' Knight recalls. And it was good to be out in nature and in the evening. I always looked across the snow on a cold night, and it just sparkles when the light hits it. I always called it diamonds in the snow.'

"But despite his love for the sport, Knight says it's just not viable anymore. Last winter, the farm saw just one good day of skiing. Between grooming, hiring employees, and maintaining rental equipment, Cross-country skiing hasn't brought in a profit for the farm in over five years.

" 'Hey, we're in the middle of January, and you need a good five or six weeks of revenue coming into this place in order to make that pay for itself. And I'm smart enough to realize it ain't working.' "

  12. The mosses are winning. 💚✨ No cold white stuff on the ground in February in New England.

  13. The view of downtown San Diego from our rental in Pacific Beach. A good day. Tomorrow the rain is supposed to hit. Could be interesting. #SanDiego #Vacation #NotAlaska #NoSnow #NotFreezing

  14. One more radar image from the #Asheville NC area, around 3pm on Monday. We again sit on the knife edge of nothing and light rain, while the snow/ice/heavy rain all gets bunched up on the western slopes of the Blue Ridge, or dusting the tops of the nearby peaks.

  15. @nwsgsp_bot

We have again unfurled the giant #Asheville umbrella, and all the precip is staying west and north.

I suppose by the time it crests the mountains it's just too tired to deal with our valley...

  16. Saturday in #Asheville at this hour is about 34F with #rain, showing no signs of earlier snow/ice/sleet, although can't be certain.

Currently the precip is very fine points of very cold rain.

More storms on their way over the next week, so wise to keep an eye on it all.

  17. Morning #fediverse. We don't have #snow in #Whitby and it's January - I can't think of a recent time when this wasn't the case. This photo is from a few years ago.

  18. I will bite the next person who tells me that we're having "such wonderful weather".

Week after week of no snow and temps above-freezing here isn't wonderful, it's scary. #climatecrisis #saskatchewan #nosnow

  19. Not gonna lie. A long walk in November at Wrightville Beach, NC was very welcome after the snowpocalypse we had last week. #NotAlaska #NoSnow

  20. It could be one of the least snowiest Februarys on record! #Cleveland, #Toledo, and #Mansfield is currently (as of Feb 22nd) on track for #1 least snowiest. Youngstown and Akron-Canton is on track for #2 least snowfall. #Erie PA is #3.
