Today we have Jamie Francis in the spotlight. Ex C# dev, now Lead Platform Engineer and a fan of Italian cuisine. He thinks that the soundtrack for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 is the best soundtrack and we absolutely agree. He is also the owner of the most over-engineered home network setup in Northampton. Meet Jamie ❣️

Have you ever been to an event, surrounded by tons of people, wondering who all these folks are? Ever wondered who the speaker is? Who's the organiser of this thing? Wonder no more! We have quality branded lanyards and 3D-printed name tags. Cool, right?

For over a year we have been publishing short-form interviews with geeks from Northampton. We love this human aspect of the nn1 dev community website. A new interview lands on our page every second Friday, and today we'd like to introduce you to Richard Burt. Currently a founder at Safehold Solutions, with over two decades of experience in the healthcare tech sector. Lovely bloke, old enough to remember the Binatone console 👾

Doing little merch for the @nn1dev meetup I organise brings me so much joy. The quality is second to none, and the print work was done locally by a lovely fella named Andy, using a traditional, manual screen printing method.

Can't tell you how many times we heard it would be cool to get @nn1dev updates on Instagram! We're not cool enough for this platform, but huge thanks to Basia who's gonna help us with social media. So finally you can follow us on Instagram 🤷♂️

Remove the guesswork from your UI. Assuming that everyone is as tech-savvy as you are is not the way to go. A simple and common pattern of a theme switcher is a good example. The circle split in half, sun and moon icon may be obvious to you, but are they obvious to everyone? Nope! Nothing beats descriptive text labels.

It's time to meet another community member! Sean Toru is Managing Director at Toru Digital, a regular attendee of our meetups, and the owner of an absolutely stunning Macintosh SE/30. He's a fan of ActionScript 3—crazy!
