  1. Exposure Therapy. Who can tell me about it.

My 14-year old, recently diagnosed AuDHD, has intense anxiety about blood draws, which she needs every 6-12 months to continue with the medication regimen she desires.

I am only asking about Exposure Therapy. Please do not provide other reflections on blood draws, in general. I am setting out this boundary to help me manage my stress of parenting in this situation. If you answered the previous post on this topic with other responses, thank you, your heart is in the right place, but the other responses are not helpful for me.

  2. Good point about #needlephobia

Prepandemic research suggests that fear of needles may affect up to 25 percent of adults and may lead up to 16 percent of adults to skip or delay vaccinations. For many, it’s not as simple as “suck it up”: It’s a condition that can lead to panic attacks and even fainting. During the pandemic, a study in Britain found that as many as one in four adults had injection phobia, and that those who did were twice as likely to be vaccine-hesitant."

  3. Well 2021 for me will be 2 jabs and a blood test it seems.
Thought I dodged the bullet on the blood test but the NHS has finally caught up with me.

  4. Glad have missed the #manchester rain and finally having my first vaccine shot. They were so great and understanding for someone with #Trypanophobia #needlephobia.
Highly recommend telling them at the first desk, Lidocaine gel and any coping mechanism you have.
