There's an Android app everybody should have: It alerts you when someone with this kind of #surveillance tech is in vicinity. Useful in public spaces. I recommend stopping these people and have the police take their name and address, so you can sue them.

@CerstinMahlow I've been using #wigle on mobile for several years now. It just seems that #NearbyGlasses is just a highly focused (BT/BLE MACs) version of that.

My nagging thought is "What's stopping those Meta Ray-bans from hoovering up the nearby Wifi/BT/BLE MACs as well?".

THAT is the real surveillance here and I don't put it past Meta to do this.

There are now apps to warn people if there are (smart) glasses with cameras switched on around them. So people will be warned that there might be surveillance, right? Which seems to be a good thing?

Maybe I missed something, but a device looking around to detect cameras is essentially monitoring constantly everything everywhere. Which is a pretty accurate definition of, ahem, surveillance?
