  1. Beltane

    Now, the time of fire
    bides through the changing darkness,
    waiting to ignite;
    to burn out the acquired dross
    of lives enslaved to their lies.

    But these ancient flames
    blaze brightest when night's deep tides
    fill the soul's caverns;
    watch, where you would not dare look,
    as your heart becomes the pyre.

  2. Reaching

    I got lost, on paths
    unlit, and never knew times
    so dark and lonely;
    a heart pierced by memory
    and fear, seeking deep shadows.

    Ye Gods, I need light,
    and a hand to drag me out
    from this drowning dark;
    have I not been long enough
    struggling to find stars, again?

  3. Disturbed

    If silence was peace,
    it would not reside
    in the space
    between heartbeats,
    the thousand deaths
    each day
    must suffer.
    It would not pull
    the tears
    from the canyons
    within my soul,
    and swallow the scream
    that I send,
    into the sky,
    because pain
    burns deeper
    when borne alone.
    It would not hide
    behind words, smiles
    and empty glances,
    making life echo
    as a hollow,
    filled with nothing
    but ghosts.

  4. Mind's Eye

    There are vast clouds,
    shot through with light
    of an unfading dawn;
    they shine, beyond
    a wide horizon, formed
    of dream and hope.

    I see their glow
    each time my heart
    seeks its destination;
    each glimpse, a wish
    to find a pathway, back
    to primal flame.

    May my desire
    take me to them,
    past this life's wide shadow,
    in wild response
    to promises, that home
    was never lost.

  5. Stormbird

    A child, I allowed
    cold winds to pierce my heart's pain
    and numb me to ice;
    they call me again, tonight,
    and I will spread wings to fly.

    Winter holds me, still:
    my time, always, in the dark,
    always, in the wild;
    if I'm cursed to ride the gale,
    then let me go, to my fate.

  6. Chord

    When the music dies
    and there's nothing left to sing,
    when voice fades to night...
    in absence of words worthy
    of melody, what is left?

    Breath, alone, is vain,
    and poetry's want becomes
    the soul's starvation;
    waiting, in tuneless wonder,
    watching the death of beauty.

  7. Unimportance

    Inhale.
    Listen.
    There is rain, tapping,
    seeking entry,
    offering to bring
    the darkness of
    the street, into
    my room.
    Here,
    in this stillness
    where all words
    were exhausted
    long ago,
    I need not bid
    the raindrops enter.
    They are here,
    already,
    and I know
    it does not matter.
    Not now, not ever.
    Nothing matters.
    The only important
    issue, is
    to understand,
    everything dies.
