much less interesting:
- #ccrta smartdart microtransit expansion on the outer cape
- #mvrta methuen shuttle... (advertised as fixing the fact that the 10 has a one way loop in methuen)
- #mwrta to work with marlborough's weird commuter shuttle
- #mart to work with winchendon community connector to expand to ashburnham
- #nrta to add a random route to patch a hole in their terrible network -

anyway, on to the new projects
most interesting are:
- year round #lrta-#nts connection, no word on whether it will be at pheasant lane or in nashua proper
- #mvrta route into salem nh to connect to the #mta 23 (and obviously the many shopping destinations there...)
- #pvta route from ware to holyoke
- funding for the #srta to work with #ripta to bump frequency on the 24l; not sure how this will work in practice, but will be nice to finally get this up from rush only -

#mvrta schedule changes, including a new 0 bus route! 0 routes will no longer unique to western cities with massive grids! the 0 and reconfigured 12 will form a bidirectional loop between mcgovern and essex plaza. hourly circulator service six days a week when every other route in lawrence is twice as frequent is... not great, so not sure how successful this will be. other than that, just a few schedule shifts and small routing changes

besides the well publicized #mvrta service bumps to the 1 and 24 to every 20 minutes, there are some other changes coming july 6th
the 5's service to dana farber is cut drastically to every 90 minutes, which i assume is based on ridership (the trips will end at merrimack plaza instead)
and the 11's weird short midday trips are cut, which is sort of disappointing, otherwise trips remain the same

some smaller #rta news:
- the #mwrta finally held a proper event for their new 29 foot gilligs after being teased in january on jim nee's account: https://twitter.com/MWRTA/status/1899200481764769958
they are *so* stubby but the paint scheme is nice- the #mvrta announces a few more service bumps coming at the beginning of april: https://mevatransit.com/alerts/changes-effective-sunday-april-6-2025/
more interesting, though, is their roadmap for service increases for the rest of the year. 20 min service would be very cool, and the crosstown is intriguing -

looks like the #mvrta is moving its #lawrence hub to the #mbta commuter rail station. while this is good for multimodality, the station is somewhat isolated from downtown, being a 15 minute walk from lawrence's main common that the current hub at buckley is adjacent to. now, it's not in the middle of nowhere and it's certainly more complicated than #ripta's blatant joke of a proposal, and most north side routes will probably continue serving downtown
