As Vietnam successfully attracted almost sixteen million foreign tourists during the first eight months of this year, Russia and the Philippines have emerged as the fast-growing tourist markets at 166% and 58% respectively, according to a VnExpress news report.

Tourist arrivals from Russia and the Philippines surged 166% and 58%, respectively, in the first eight months, as Vietnam recorded nearly 16 million international visitors, up more than 14% year-on-year.

The rise in Russian tourists has made Russia the largest European market and the third largest source of international arrivals to Vietnam this year, with around 1 million visitors, only after mainland China (3.5 million) and South Korea (2.8 million).

Nguyen Tien Dat, CEO of AZA Travel, said: “Russian tourists enjoy swimming, sunbathing, eating seafood, and relaxing at resorts. Vietnam fully meets these needs, so it is understandable why they are visiting in large numbers,” Dat says.

Kristina Zagumennaya, director of a Russian travel agency, told the Russian news agency Sputnik in early August that Russian tourist flows are shifting between markets. While Turkey remains the top choice, Vietnam and China have recorded outstanding growth.

“Vietnam stands out as a popular choice this tourist season,” Zagumennaya said, noting that multiple charter flights are operating to destinations across the country to meet demand for both beach holidays and cultural tourism.

In addition to charter flights, Vietnam Airlines increased the frequency of its direct Hanoi-Moscow route from three to four flights per week starting in July.

Ranking behind Russia, the Philippines also showed notable growth, despite not being a prominent source market for Vietnamese tourism prior to 2025.

Filipino visitors have risen to nearly 470,000 this year, among the 10 largest group of foreign visitors to Vietnam.

#2 NiGHTS into Dreams…revisited – Way back in 1996, Sega released NiGHTS into Dreams… which was a very ambitious Sega Saturn video game made by the same key creators behind the popular Sonic games on Sega Genesis. Back in the old days, Sega was in a bind as it faced tough competition from Nintendo and Sony. That said, the company really had to make an exclusive game that is of very high quality, fun-filled gameplay and ambitious creative designs. #3 Ashleigh Burton reacts to The Animatrix – When it comes to entertainment in the year of 2003, The Matrix entertainment franchise really left its mark with the two hyped sequels The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions but also with the video game Enter The Matrix and the animated anthology The Animatrix. Released between the two live-action movies, The Animatrix featured several animated short stories of the Matrix universe done by different creators and each had different styles of art and visual concepts. The Animatrix also was designed to expand and explain the lore that delighted the fans while helping newcomers get oriented efficiently. #4 Japan opposes Islamic immigration – Let us be very clear here. Massive Islamic immigration is causing a lot of trouble in countries that accepted it. In Japan there is an obvious rise of criminal acts, public nuisance and other forms of problems caused by Islamist foreigners there. There were already rape acts committed by Pakistani men, a dumping of garbage committed by a man from Turkey and more. It is also obvious that the Muslim foreigners in Japan have no respect for Japanese culture, rules and social norms. #5 You, Me and the Movies react to Alligator (1980) – As a very young boy, I saw the 1980 film Alligator on a rented Betamax tape. I saw it alone during my first viewing, and later got a few friends to watch it with me on my second viewing. Alligator was one of those monster movies (AKA creature features) inspired by Steven Spielberg’s Jaws as several movie producers hoped to cash-in on the 1975 film’s popularity and the box office trends of the time. #5 When Hollywood Released Two Similar Movies In 1998 – Way back in 1998, moviegoers worldwide saw two movies from Hollywood that had similar concepts about the world getting hit by something from deep space. The movies were Deep Impact and Armageddon, and they were released in the same summer box office season in America. Deep Impact was more dramatic and tried hard to be believable while Armageddon was highly exaggerated and had Michael Bay’s flair all over it. The two films were released at a time when disaster movies had a resurgence and they used computer-generated images to make realize their respective visual concepts. #6 You, Me And The Movies React To Ghost In The Shell (1995) – There are many reasons why the 1995 anime feature film Ghost in the Shell is very significant. The adaptation of Masamune Shirow’s literary Ghost in the Shell was made with very high production values under the direction of Mamoru Oshii, the story had many futuristic concepts that became very relevant today, and it was very influential for many Hollywood filmmakers. That said, I liked how the anime feature film drew reactions from You, Me and the Movies, and their reaction video is a must-see!

#7 Casablanca Reaction Video Of EOM Reacts – There is nothing like watching a classic, black-and-white movie like Casablanca. Set in French Morocco, the story follows many characters dealing with the uncertainty of war and it is inside the nightclub and gambling den of American expatriate Rick Blaine where a lot of developments happened. The 1942 movie is memorable with its top-notch stars (Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman are phenomenal), the dramatic plot, the immersive settings and many iconic lines and moments. #10 Atari Jaguar CD Revisited – While I played a lot of games of Atari (both on Atari 2600 console and arcade games) in my life, I never owned an Atari Jaguar nor its CD-ROM add-on device. Indeed, there was a time in the 1990s when Atari got back in console gaming starting with the Jaguar console that operated with games in cartridge format. #1 Saints Row 2 Revisited – Having played the original Saints Row on my Xbox 360 console in 2006, I wished for a sequel to happen as I enjoyed the game a lot. As a direct sequel, Saints Row 2 took place in the fictional city of Stilwater (the main setting of the first game) which has been expanded and modified a lot by Volition to not only reflect the passage of time but also offer gamers a bigger environment to explore and enjoy. Among fans of the Saints Row series, it has been argued that Saints Row 2 is the best to play and I myself enjoyed replaying it the most. While such old anime productions proved to be entertaining, there are still some people out there who bashed them because those productions (and their stories) did not align with their modern day woke agenda. The popular geek entertainment portal CBR published lots of articles saying that the old anime productions did not age well and a lot of readers and netizens followed suit. #7 Ashleigh Burton’s Reaction To Witness – The 1980s will always be a memorable decade of Harrison Ford’s cinematic performances. During that decade, he appeared in two Star Wars movies and he was the center of attraction in the original Indiana Jones trilogy. Le premier « Predator » est une référence du film d’action, selon moi, pour plusieurs raisons, la première étant son réalisateur John McTiernan, qu’on retrouvera des années plus tard pour ce qui est, pour moi, la meilleure scène d’ouverture de film de tous les temps dans « Une journée en enfer » (Die Hard with a Vengeance), une masterclass inégalée.

Une réalisation professionnelle et accessible

Le réalisateur de ce film, sans lui faire offense, ne peut pas être comparé à son aîné cité précédemment ; il n’en demeure pas moins que le travail réalisé pour Prey est très professionnel et artistiquement cohérent. Le spectateur n’ayant aucune connaissance de l’univers dont il est question pourra apprécier le film autant que le fan invétéré, c’est à souligner, car certaines franchises ne se donnent pas la peine, ou maladroitement, de traiter les films d’une franchise en les rendant accessibles au plus grand nombre. Le récit est donc tout à fait abordable pour quiconque.

L’importance de l’expérience visuelle et sonore

Les images qui s’offrent à nous sont toutes soignées et servent le propos et surtout le contexte du film et des personnages. La construction globale du récit et la mise en images se dispensent de dialogues longs et inutiles ; les images se suffisent à elles-mêmes. L’ambiance sonore est elle aussi très réussie et contribue pleinement au visionnage et à l’immersion. Il ne s’agit pas là d’un film à voir en sourdine, l’appréciation ne peut se faire qu’à haut volume, car l’environnement sonore est une partie prépondérante dans l’appréciation du spectacle qui nous est proposé.

Quelques regrets mineurs pour un film réussi

Le seul regret qu’on peut avoir est qu’à certains moments, peu, les effets spéciaux ne sont pas vraiment à la hauteur et c’est dommage, mais pas rébarbatif. Cela ne gâche en rien la qualité générale du film, mais on aurait apprécié ne pas avoir ce petit défaut dans ce qui s’avère être une réussite qualitative dans la saga Predator.

Conditions optimales de visionnage

Il n’en reste pas moins que notre attention est captive du début à la fin. Il faut, pour le comprendre, avoir visionné ce film comme dans une salle de cinéma avec le moins de lumières parasites possible et dans un silence de cathédrale, car l’ambiance sonore est indispensable à l’appréciation et à l’immersion.

Une expérience cinématographique à privilégier

Vous l’aurez compris, ce film est à voir dans l’obscurité et avec un volume conséquent. Toute autre condition de visionnage ne rendrait pas honneur et ne lui conviendrait pas, ce serait comme boire du Champagne chaud, on peut, mais on y perd. Rendez-vous service et mettez en place les conditions pour apprécier un film qui s’inscrit dignement dans une saga qui aurait pu se passer de certains films précédents.
