This got used as test email today (I had to shift a domain across #MS365 tenants and deal with particularly cursed behaviour of #outlook
the young lass in the office (who was getting the email address) didn't know what "pruimtabak" was (thankfully it is not as popular in Europe nowadays!) and was quite grossed out when I told her 😁

I write my work emails in plain text mode, because honestly, you don't need inline images, formatting, or a thousandth copy of the County seal in my signature. The information I want you to have is in the text.
And then we have my colleague. Email signature includes three tiny images for his contact info.
When I try to reply as plain text, it grabs all the images in the thread and attaches them.
Faced with removing all these attachments, I'm considering just not responding at all.

Just had to "hack" two (2) #MS365 tenants, due to #Authenticator being completely goosed on my mobile phone, it had never worked 100% after MS forced its use last year (my other colleague with admin access was on holiday and away from UK ) - luckily the way #Microsoft had it previously running was half-arsed enough that I was able to still access user admin page (but not Entra, and security info) which allowed me to escalate an existing user to Global Admin and then use that to reset my own accounts #MFA and then add those back to Authenticator...

found #bug on both #FireFox and #WaterFox - neither will display apps page on #MS365 - it doesn't appear on main portal menu with Copilot, nor on URL with
//m365.cloud.microsoft/appsworkaround is to go into outlook.office.com and use the square of 9 dots to get the app menu. Its curious as it *used* to work!
Looked for other reports or solutions but not found any - I guess Microsoft will just say "use Edge or Chrome", and Firefox/Waterfox users generally don't like MS365 so aren't interested in fixing it (I use Firefox to stay logged in to a different MS365 tenant on that particular browser rather than my main work one (which is left logged in on Edge)

Mal abgesehen davon, dass es gefährlich ist, Daten "outzusourcen": Dr. Weiß weist darauf hin, dass die Tarife von MS365 für Hochschulen Lockangebote sind. Eine Preiserhöhung wird nicht lange auf sich warten lassen, sobald die Migration in die #Microsoft-Cloud passiert ist.

Left #LinuxMint PC switched on overnight again with both browsers open (but fewer tabs, just #MS365 on #Edge , a terminal window and two large PDFs (a scanned copy of 1981 Handbuch für Fernmeldehandwerker (training books from DBP-Telekom) and a draft of what appears to be a University textbook (in German) about VOIP (which seems to have a better explanation about how SIP works than many English texts!).
Everything remained stable, including the Dropbox client and even the Mastodon tab left open on Firefox didn't go OOM - I suspect yesterdays crash may have been an outlier due to multiple things hammering the system (or possibly a commercial news site and the adblockers eating memory)

Got smol SSD drive (250GB) and restarted #LinuxMint experiment (old #desktop was laggy using spinning rust) - this is actually now a usable PC!
Office #printer once again detected by #CUPS with driverless install, built in software handled printing a large graphics-intensive PDF well.
Both #Firefox and #Edge running without problems (only reason I have Edge on here is to test how well it works with if #MS365)
Only minor drawback is #Dropbox #Linux client wants to download entire Dropbox to the hard drive (which will fill it up very quickly), it doesn't have the "save hard drive space" functionality on #Windows
This would now be good enough to use as backup PC for general (non technical) office staff (many use web MS365 apps a lot more than desktop these days!)

mein letzter Schritt zu #unplugtrump und #degoogle hat mich jetzt endgültig zu #libreoffice geführt. Nach intensivem Gebrauch über 2 Monaten bin ich sehr zufrieden damit und es fühlt sich gut an, nicht mehr in den Fängen von #ms365 zu sein.

It seems to me based on mailing list traffic like a lot of people are seeing the free side of MS email (outlook.com, hotmail.com, etc. not paying customers on ms365) doing what it so often does today: mystery rejections and dropping mail on the floor.
I assure you: if you're getting bounces because of this, your mail admin knows that it is happening and has NO WAY to address it. -
As an experiment, I asked #MS365 #Copilot to explain how to set up #SIP trunk on #FreePBX using #PJSIP (consider that I have already successfully set up several of these, to external providers and an inter-PBX line between two servers).
Results it returned were horribly mangled and mixed up from various providers sites, if you followed them the trunk likely won't work at all, and even if it did it would end up in completely wrong context/dialplan.
It didn't mention such things as fromuser and took a few prompts to point out potential firewall issues.
You need to know (or learn) the basics of #telephony before starting, or else it will all go tits up very quickly - #AI is still no substitute for "boots on the ground" who have put in research for what they are trying to achieve..

Bei der Gelegenheit wurde auch Exchange via #MS365 wieder umgestellt auf IMAP. Das war eine gute Entscheidung und die Seite sowie Backend sind richtig fix.

Bei der Gelegenheit wurde auch Exchange via #MS365 wieder umgestellt auf IMAP. Das war eine gute Entscheidung und die Seite sowie Backend sind richtig fix.

I wish that 10 years ago #Nextcloud and #OwnCloud hadn't dissipated their energy arguing and forking, as if it had been a viable solution then my employers would have gone for them rather than #MS365 and now we are stuck with it as Sharepoint is to be fair quite useful (it basically gets used as a giant NAS) and has even had UI and usability improvements.
You can run the whole of the web-based MS365 part on Linux (I've tried it with success) but I still need the desktop app #VBA for some stuff I do (and also I have OBD2 control software (VCDS) for VW group cars that will *only* work on Windows, the devs have flat out refused to port it to Linux (I suspect because they don't want the dongle being reverse engineered)
