Does anyone in the Fediverse have any knowledge about or experience operating DMR or MPT1327 systems over a very long range? I know TETRA isn't a practical option without running alternate timeslots.
I am considering a mountaintop site at over 2000m elevation and need to get service to a range of 160Km (assume unimpeded line of sight).
My concerns is maximum round trip delay. I'm thinking that the old CTCSS type systems are likely to be the most reliable option.

Well then. I think I might have found the MPT1343/MPT1327 Checkbits calculation function - used to figure out if the ESN on an MPT trunked radio has been illicitly modified.
The Motorola radio Labkit software (ESN Tool) that's been floating around for a while contains the algorithm.. it's in the function at address 0x401070.
