    💁🏻‍♀️ TIL: 🗂️🔗 Starting in 1895, Belgian lawyers Paul Otlet and Henri La Fontaine built the #Mundaneum, a vast paper #archive of over 15 million index cards meant to gather and classify all human #knowledge.

    Otlet also imagined “electric #telescopes,” networked screens users could query by phone, an early blueprint for the #internet. The project was dismantled after the 1940 Nazi invasion, but survives today as a #museum in #Mons and an online catalog.
