I’m enjoying it a lot too. I hope you like M:LOM S2E1 as much as I did.
Legendary Pictures definitely seems on an intentional track to have the Monsterverse era give the Showa era a run for the longest one in the franchise - at 12 years, the Monsterverse has now outrun the length of all the others.
It sounds like you haven’t heard though that Wyatt Russell will be starting in a spinoff focused on Lee Shaw in the 1980s. A spy thriller with Titans is promised. It is going into production in June.
Legendary signed a multiyear deal with Apple after the success of MLOM’s first season that mentioned multiple spinoffs. In a new Hollywood Reporter interview, the Russells were talking about another 10-15 year run for the Monsterverse.

I think that we’re seeing that the Randa grandkids have a legacy that goes beyond Monsters.
Whether nature or nurture, in this premiere, and in season one, we keep seeing Bill’s impulsiveness and Keiko’s headstrong natures in both Cate and Kentaro — although they tend to alternate in terms of which is exhibiting what tendency.
They’re all both very smart and quick to distrust and resentfulness. That seems the result of trauma — consistent with the show’s maxim: Hurt people hurt people.

I have seen the premiere. It’s strong, confident, with gorgeous vfx. My sense is that it will take a few rewatches to absorb it all.

AppleTV and Legendary Studios have posted an official video from their ‘world’s largest ever’ drone show at the ***Monarch: Legacy of Monsters*** Hollywood season two premiere earlier this week.
It’s a titanic statement.
#Monsterdon fans — heads up — ***Mothra*** is teased in the drone performance. Could it be that ***Mothra*** will return to onscreen grandeur in this, her 65th anniversary? (***Ghidora*** seems to be in there too.)
