What could have just been a cost saving measure (to reuse a set) becomes an essential part of the story and helps us better understand Vaughn and his motivations. I can see why they kept Sherwin around after this and #MindRobber (1) #DoctorWho #Invasion

Quick question for knowledgeable #DoctorWho fans. Where does the term "Land of Fiction" come from? It isn't in the script of the #MindRobber (http://chakoteya.net/DoctorWho/6-2.htm) or in the text of the novelization (although it is on the back cover blurb).

I've seen this story loads of times and yet this is the first time I've realised Zoe isn't in her sparkly costume from #MindRobber I'm guessing that is a budget issue for the animation (and only jumped out to me watching them back to back) #DoctorWho #Invasion
-
I've seen this so many times and always wondered why the Master wasn't in the TARDIS at the start of the Invasion. I think it is actually explained though if I had been concentrating #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
I wish the ending had been a little better. We could have had the Doctor overload the computer by summoning more historical figures than the computer could handle but instead Zoe just presses a couple of buttons #DoctorWho #MindRobber

In what other story (or show) could you watch Cyrano de Bergerac fight d'Artagnan and Blackbeard fight Sir Lancelot. The fight scenes are surprisingly well choreographed as well #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
Emrys Jones manages to slip between endearing writer of children's fiction and megalomaniac dictator with ease. It works better for me here than with Padmasambhava but that may be down to having the visuals #DoctorWho #MindRobber

I'm not sure about the whole invasion of Earth, it just feels tagged on the end. I liked it as a child but not sure it stands up on rewatch. Still I would recommend anyone wanting a fuller analysis to read Robert Shearman theory in Running Through Corridors #DoctorWho #MindRobber

After becoming a fan during episode 4 I recorded episode 5 onto VHS (and probably have it in my parents loft somewhere). This orphaned episode and the Sea Devils are probably therefore the stories I have watched the most #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
The cliffhanger is Jamie and Zoe literally being pressed into the text of a book. With a cliffhanger like that how could I not have been hooked on this show? #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
I like the mechanics of this story. When events happen first and are written they are history but when they are written first they are fiction. They conveniently forget that sometimes things written come true and they are predictions but never mind #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
Does everyone remember the strip section of the hourly telepress in the year 2000? I assume they are implying that news would be printed hourly and not predicting twitter coming a couple of years early... #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
I always love the Zoe fight scene. She knows he is fiction and is therefore able to defeat him whilst the Doctor doesn't so his attempts to help all fail. It isn't the best choreographed fight scene I've ever watched but there is something endearing about it #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
I like the juxtaposition of the fairy tale castle exterior and the high tech interior of the Masters control room #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
There is something very Weeping Angels about this scene. Unlike the others they didn't say that she wasn't real to get out but used a mirror. Presumably because the Doctor knew Medusa was real from the comic a couple of weeks ago now #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
We have seen them defeat the Unicorn by just saying it doesn't exist, they defeated the Minotaur by saying it didn't exist, how could they possibly defeat Medusa? Oh and what happens if someone says the Doctor doesn't exist? #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
So is this the story of how the Doctor shifted from reality into a land of fiction or is he really no more real than any of the other characters we meet? Is the Doctor just another famous fictional hero in someone else's imagination? Discuss #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
Call me pedantic but I'm not sure that the map we see matches up with Zoe's description of the turnings they have taken in the maze...sorry #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
The Doctor even gets out the string before realising there is a minotaur in the caves. I get that they are going with Greek Myth but I can't think of Minotaur's now without thinking of AHS - Coven #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
The Toy Soldier design works really well here. They are clunky, but for once this is intentional and well executed. I much prefer these to the white robots we got in part 1. I also love the overall contrast between ep1 and 2 completely different vibes #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
I understand that we are supposed to use our imagination here but the perspective is so off that it pulls me out every time. There scale just looks wrong, as does the idea Jamie would be able to read whole sentences from the top of his "S" #DoctorWho #MindRobber

When is a door not a door? When it's a jar? So the only way to get Zoe out from behind a door is to turn the door into a jam jar. I have no idea why people suggest that the writer was on drugs when he wrote this... #DoctorWho #MindRobber

Another production decision brought about by necessity and yet again another decision that just works. This is the only story where you can get away with something like this and it be surreal rather than jarring #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
The children are very creepy. I'm not sure whether it is the constant questioning or just their facial expressions but something creeps me out a little with them. What might the Doctor be suitable for, it is all very cryptic #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
I like the idea that everything in the story is a puzzle and game. I wonder how many children worked out Gulliver's identity just from his odd choice of words. As someone who has never read this I wouldn't have stood a chance #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
The cliffhanger to this episode with the TARDIS console spinning through the air and Zoe and Jamie hanging on is one of my favourites #DoctorWho #MindRobber https://youtu.be/_7QiQUFQ53U?si=oZaJNZfCyAuMa4tO
-
The most disturbing part of this story might be the Doctors reaction. He is usually the one to run into danger and yet here despite everything he just sits in the chair and closes his eyes. This is the Doctor actually worried not just pretending #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
This episode was created by necessity, written by the script editor with no additional cast, no new sets, reused costumes and almost no budget and yet it is one of the best episodes we have had in a while. Shows what #DoctorWho can do despite any limitations #MindRobber
-
At the risk of this being me commenting on fashion every story, Jamie and Zoe look much better in this story than they did in #Dominators #DoctorWho #MindRobber
-
So the Time Lords have a device under the console that can take the TARDIS out of time and space. I like the idea of being nowhere as a sci-fi concept #DoctorWho #MindRobber
