Having warm, cozy thoughts about all the characters in MIDNIGHT DINER and MIDNIGHT DINER (Tokyo Stories). I adore them all.
I wish I had the entire series on DVD (US region) because I would play it nonstop for a month straight, I'm sure.

I've never really known #karaoke (with the right people maybe) would be something I enjoy (quite a lot) lol. I've only been twice, and never with friends cos they're (we're) not the type to randomly think of paying for some hours just to sing. The first time was w family and I didn't even sing cos I was too edgy I guess. The most recent was new year's eve just a couple of weeks ago - and that was with my partner and sibs.
After the #AOT finale I for some reason just NEEDED to sing #anime songs and I did just that while everyone else sang Indo/Malay/Eng songs lmao. We went to #Manekineko just bcos it was the only one available/open, and we sang from 11pm till 1am and surprisingly it totally wasn't enough 😩 Was able to sing some AOT songs tho not all I had wanted which was a bummer, some #Gintama songs, the #NatsumeYuujinchou OP, and the #HunterXHunter OP. They didn't have #ShinyaShokudo (#MidnightDiner)'s OP either which was also a bit of a bummer.
I really didn't need yet another hobby to commit to lol but here I am. I thought when I have my own place I only need to sacrifice a single (likely store) room as a dedicated room for my servers/#homelab equipments, now I prolly need a soundproofed karaoke room too if this urge to scream to my fav songs continue too frequently. -

So mal schauen was der *frische* Bambus aus dem Laden kann - also nicht vorgekocht. Dazu noch eine Udon sollte passen.
Aber grad diese neu eingetroffene Platte am hören. Koto-Jazz-Raregroove aus den 70ern. Sehr nett.

The #MidnightDiner show is so, so good. Definitely expected something entirely different when I saw stills of the show and read the synopsis but man, this is so much better. Very entertaining, calming, and heartwarming.

@Schnuckster No, especially as the patrons of the Midnight Diner are also likely to be doing just that to keep you company! @swisslet is right, the 0.0 is one of the better ones out there (and it seems Sainsburys, Tescos and Waitrose stock it, in case you are near one and want to try it with breakfast).

I've said it before, Midnight Diner is one of the best TV series online right now. No calmer way to end the day than by watching an episode in bed before falling asleep. 🍜

After quite some time, I have found a TV series that I enjoy.
"Midnight Diner" is a Japanese series from 2009. An episode or two watched before bedtime has become a calming ritual to end the day. Highly recommended. 👌

Dinner tonight was salmon and mushrooms from #MidnightDiner: Tokyo Stories Season 2, episode 6.
Photo 1 - On a sheet of aluminum foil, I layered a salmon steak, 1/2 tbsp butter, mushrooms (enokitake, oyster, shitake, and bella) and julienned greens. I then poured about a 1/4 cup of broth (1tsp Hondashi powder in 1 cup of warm water)
Photo 2 - I sealed up the foil and place in fry pan on medium heat heat for 15 minutes
Photo 3 - Unsealed salmon and mushrooms
Photo 4 - Plated dinner

#themakanai #midnightdiner #whatdidyoueatyesterday on #netflix are some of the most absorbing stories centred on Japanese food with social commentary that I've ever watched and if you haven't give them a whirl! #foodwithsocialcommentary I've learnt so much about Japanese food and how easy many dishes are to prepare! E.g. #battahrisu (butter rice) must be the perfect accompaniment to ANY Asian dish. Just a small dollop of butter and a couple of drops of soya sauce ON HOT #RICE ! HEAVEN.

@bateman @kleptones I didn't know that there were films as well, so thanks! I'm glad I looked for the hashtag on here out of curiosity.
I only discovered it a few months ago but #MidnightDiner has become absolute comfort content for me 😊

A couple of years after getting hooked on it during lockdown, today realised I missed the cheerfully mellow vibe of (Japanese TV show) "Midnight Diner" - but no new episodes since 2019 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_Diner_(Japanese_TV_series) so am now digging for other similar series. Grabbing "Solitary Gourmet" now, but wondering what else is out there.
Anyone else into this genre with recommendations?
(Actually having #engsub would be a bonus too :)
