@W6KME @ai6yr @kb9ens And on a related point...
If you ever are in an emergency situation and need to summon help then I highly recommend you include the following in your message:
1. Your coordinates as latitude longitude in decimal degrees
2. The accuracy value for the coordinates.The GPS feature in your phone produces both pieces of data. If you do not already have an easy way to paste *both* pieces of data into a message then you can consider using FindMeSAR (I am the developer).
This is a web app (I.e. Progressive Web App) and can be installed for offline use on both iOS and Android. FindMeSAR is not in any app store. For installation instructions, open it in your browser and follow the directions that are displayed.
There is a "Tips" button with more info.
Wanna see the code? Sure, you can do that. Use your browser's developer tools.

Something of personal interest is the #WGS84 coordinate system. This is the base for most electronic #navigation and #coordinate systems like #UTM #MGRS #ECEF and much more

@BakerRL75 That #GavilanFire evac map with grids - the grid identifiers are U.S. National Grid coordinates. First time I have seen that. USNG is the same as Military Grid Reference System (MGRS) except UNSG is written with spaces so it is easy to read.
