  1. Pokusy s MeshCore

Trochu osobnější pohled na MeshCore. Jak jsem se z běžného uživatele, dostal přes pořízení vlastního repeateru a po psaní vlastního klienta. Vše během pár měsíců a samotná síť se rozvíjí podobným tempem.

  2. RE: mstdn.social/@meshy/1163877805

I've created an account for #Meshy, so that I don't have to post all the updates from my personal account where most of my followers don't really care about #MeshCore.

  3. I'm experimenting with a new layout of #Meshy. The main menu is now vertical in the very left panel which hides when the window gets narrower (can be always evoked). It should still work well on phones. Of course, there are a lot of paper cuts to solve, some elements look out of place or redundant now, but I already like it better than the current layout.

  4. Today I added companion telemetry support into #Meshy. When you pull in the location, the official #MeshCore client shows it on the map. In Meshy it also shows your location, so that you can see how far you're from the other companion.

  5. @sesivany just wanted to say thank you for building this app! Have been enjoying using it this afternoon. A question - is there a hard limitation on quoted replies being displayed in the manner of a standard chat app, e.g as a bubble within a bubble. I notice the official Meshcore app also uses a format like '[@original_sender] reply to message'. If not, could make a PR if you accept them. Would make it easier to parse channels

  6. I apologise to all my followers who aren't interested in #MeshCore for yet another post about #Meshy, but I'm really happy that I've finally added a map view using libshumate.

You can now see all the nodes on the map, and my favourite feature is that it can draw the established path for the chat. There's no need to search for the geographical path of messages in other tools anymore.

It still needs some polishing, but it already does the job.

  7. The #MeshCore repeater management in #Meshy completed. It took quite some tweaking to make it fit the screen of my #PostMarketOS phone.

  8. #Meshy consumes 140 MB on startup, not too bad for a Python app using #GTK 4 and #libadwaita running in Flatpak.
But once you open the emoji picker it jumps to 650 MB with the vulkan renderer. As if it loaded all 3000 UTF emojis into memory at once. With the gl renderer the memory consumption jumps by ~30 MB and then grows as you browse the emojis. Cairo is even better at it, but there is a performance penalty.

"so yes, #meshy does allow you to rig with a list of preset anims, but found this to be a smaller list than even those on #mixamo.

am opting to just export #glb in t-pose, and used this plugin tut to help me retarget any mixamo anim..."

  12. Update on the 3D printed action figure... #ChatGPT failed to come through with .stl files. Instead, I extracted the action figure image from the initial image, and uploaded that to #Meshy which was able to generate a set of models for me to choose from. Picked one, sliced it and printed it.

It isn't perfect, but honestly for a 100% AI generated 3D model, it is really very good.
