I continue to track the main #megabreaches (>1M records compromised) occurred so far in 2026. To date I tracked 32 events with ~350M records impacted.

With this update, I added an interactive timeline with details of the #cyber events.

Hackmageddon is back, the first #cyberattacks timeline has been published (the second one is coming out shortly), and now it's time to publish the list of the #megabreaches.

Je größer der #Databreach, umso besser die #Hiobsbotschaft: Allenthalben wird zurzeit über den #Paypal-Databreach berichtet, bei dem 15,8 Mio. Zugangsdaten im Klartext vorliegen sollen - Herkunft und Gültigkeit sind bislang unklar.

In den letzten Monaten häufen sich die Meldungen über "#Megabreaches", bei denen sich zuletzt immer wieder herausstellte, dass einfach nur alte #Datenlecks zusammengestellt und als Paket neu lanciert wurden, um sie besser vermarkten zu können:

This complicated 2024 is almost over, and similarly to what I did in the past years, I am collecting the main #megabreaches (that is breaches with more than 1 million records leaked). This is work in progress, so apologies if the list is not complete. So far I recorded 73 breaches with more than 4.15 billion records leaked!
