On first sight, I thought Mum had bought some new ornament! A baby pigeon had dropped out of our ghost willow tree, a little early. Just sat waiting as I walked right up on it...

Three more new/unique #UKbird sightings for my collection:
    - Common buzzard, over that one farm field I visit.
    - Sparrowhawk, high over our house. I think this is the grey blur I've glimpsed bombing through our garden!
    - Segue to below...

  7. A big old Rook landed atop the bird feeder, meters from me! For scale, robins are shorter than those metal leaves.

Very slick, beady eye, crusty beak that I'm told is covered with feathers for their first year..?

Saturday #Caturday - this dainty little thing brought me to a halt, as it strolled up and posed like it was part of a fashion shoot, in wild area between farm and country estate.

Jay! First of a series of less common birds I've snapped for the first time, recently.

They're very shy and wily, with striking eyes (next tweet) and markings that look like a 3 year old applied makeup to them in a hurry.

Oregon Grape (Mahonia), we have a load in our boarders, so I wanted to try and do it justice. Even if the bloom clusters are mostly quite raggedy. Bonus bee below..!

Tulips!! I couldn't find an accessible cluster last year, on only short walks. Thankfully, biking to 'dahlia alley' lined me up with a sunny shot, this Thursday. Accidental SLR over-exposure came out all arty.
