@ZoDoneRightNow Not yet. I have started working on importing and exporting such things, but it will take another while (definitely not in 1.9.0)

The question is what should be default option. There will be toggle regardless of the outcome :)

I went to great lengths to parse lemmy community links specifically correct in mbin.
As far as I know I imolemented the links on mbin side as the plaintext
[email protected]. If that is not the case I'd love to see examples where it went wrong. -
Yeah that is right and a known architectural problem. I wanted to rework the voting system (from a backend standpoint) for a while, but didn't have time to do it, yet.
-
Ah yes, that highlights the problems very well... Debugging it is a bit more problematic, but it is definitely noted as an issue :)
-
Hmm if you look at your post on my mastodon server: https://wehavecookies.social/@[email protected]/113464697342661071
It looks fine. Do you have a post that creates the problems you listed? -
Just as a general response: microblog has definitely not been our main focus. Imo we should shift focus a bit more in that direction, but I blocked myself a bit with writing the tests for our ActivityPub backend which is taking a long time. I hope I can make a lot of progress this weekend, but we'll see (I don't enjoy writing tests that much, but they are important...)
- As I do not have a dev instance of mastodon (which I should definitely spin up at some point) I did not test a lot with it... Edits not federating to it definitely surprise me.
- Do you mean the preview cards from mastodon, like the link preview?
- I think mastodon just doesn't understand the
!community@serversyntax... but that definitely needs some testing
-
I think it is a style thing. One could argue that it looks weird on threads as well... But 🤷
-
But would you be pro "remove all user and magazine mention renderings" or "remove all user and magazine mention renderings in microblogs"?

@jerry I think this is something special to fedia, not an mbin thing, have you heard about this error before?

Announcement for anyone who might have been subscribed to any of the magazines I moderated on mbin:
Unfortunately, the server both my mbin account and the magazines were hosted on, kbin.run, has disappeared. Since I no longer have access to the magazines, I cannot do anything to manually shut down the old magazines or post an announcement of the migration to the magazines themselves.
I am currently in the process of setting up a new account for myself on kbin.earth, and I will update this post once I have the new magazines up and running.
Additionally, in the event that something like this happens again, I will always post an update here on my Mastodon account, and I will also be creating a backup account on PieFed (@[email protected])
