If I have boosted something, and wish to refer to it in discussion, but do not wish to engage them in discussion, is it safe for me to reply to my own boost, erase their name from the post, as to not bother them, but then my adendum would be properly threaded? Its so obvious when stuff is misthreaded, and people are like what the? LOL.

When I toot a toot, see a typo, edit the toot and update it, it'll disappear from my home timeline. Is that just a display issue for myself, or does the toot vanish from home for everyone who follows me?

So, one thing that bugs me about installing slime is the "modify your init file" step. could I add-hook requiring slime-autoloads to the after-startup-hook or something to avoid needing to open my init file at all?

Got a #MastoQuestion for all you Betterbird/Thunderbird users out there. I haven't used #Thunderbird in years, and quite possibly decades, and I'm now just giving the #Betterbird fork a spin. I could be as figuratively blind as I am physically, but for the moment, I am not seeing a setting to have Betterbird start with Windows. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or does this option simply not exist? If not, I can surely concoct my own solution. Then my next question becomes, is there a command line switch that I can pass to have Betterbird start minimized to the systray? Thanks.

Question about Mastodon etiquette: I've been thinking of switching servers, and have chosen one I want. However, it's currently set to invite only. I don't personally know anyone in the server that well, but I do have some mutuals there (which is how I found it in the first place).

Would it be rude to just ask them for an invite? Or should I just keep hunting for another server?

Following a couple of people on there from finding their posts on hashtags and I can find mastodon users from my Misskey account. If we can't, I definitely hope that gets fixed in the future.

When I boost a post on #Mastodon (actually it's coming from #Pixelfed, but I don't think it matters), can I make it so that I'm notified of every reply (mainly this) / retoot (optional) / like (vanity) of that post? Like if it'd be mine?

That's what I'm wondering too.
My App automatically puts Replies into "unlisted" but I think it still turns up in Followers "Home" timelines.
That's why I sometimes turn replies into DMs to avoid that. I'm not sure though.

▪️ for printing one or more toot/s in a nice form ; and/or
▪️ create a pdf

with the options:

to include the 1...4 images or video preview image

to include image description text/s.

Is there any way in a quick glance to tell if an image someone posted has ALT-text? (Or can I turn on a feature that shows that?)

That's probably a dumb question but Mastodon/Tusky does not use Firebase for Notifications, does it?

I only get my notifications in batches in certain intervals and they also don't get pushed to my Smartwatch.
