I like the #MarvelMultiverseRPG overall, but given how some of the most important rules and updates or errata are in later books, it does sometimes feel like “Game Sold Separately”. XD
That, and, a lot of the rules are buried in weird places: the number of spaces on the map characters of different size take isn’t in general combat or character creation rules, for instance, it’s buried in the text of the growth/shrink power. The SpiderVerse supplement has rules for villains to use Karma (basically), but it’s called “Villainous Plots” for no particular reason, and so on.
I’m guessing this is a result of one guy writing almost everything, rather than there being a design team. Just like the powers are written to address a specific character (all swinging on lines or catching people in snares are Spider-Powers frex), the books are written in an ad hoc way, with what should be foundational blocks left unaddressed until there’s a specific need.
I mean, see also AD&D, I guess, but this is a game that’s barely more than a year old, and it could badly use a Second Edition already. >.>

I wonder how the #MarvelMultiverseRPG would fare with a #PF2E-style 3-action turn, with the attack penalty being “Trouble on the second attack and Double Trouble on the third and subsequent attacks.”

Second session of @PlotlineGraveheart's #MarvelMultiverseRPG was a success for the team (woot) but my build for DangerMan was completely outclassed on every front by the rest of the group. Far from sneaking in like Robin and learning intel (and maybe stealth-gank a couple of mooks for good measure) to set up the group with a plan, he was spotted and immediately everything went south. Then once the fight started, instead of being a fast, nimble threat, he had to spend all of his turns and resources to get into position, just to land a couple of slap-fight blows... at which point the super-strong speedster picked up a forklift and smashed them. A good mind for situational awareness and sheer stubbornness to do SOMETHING useful did allow him to contribute, but there was big "Angel Summoner and the BMX Bandit" energy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFuMpYTyRjw

Tonight! We start a supers campaign, "New Halcyon Heroes," run by @PlotlineGraveheart using the #MarvelMultiverseRPG! Our budding team of starter heroes are called to city hall by Mayor Kirby (as played by Stan Lee), where he asks us to look into some rumors of high tech stolen arms coming to the city. DangerMan (my PC) does his best to take on the "leader" role, being a legacy hero taking over for the previous DangerMan, his mentor. The heroes are also asked to provide security for an event at the University that will unveil a robotic "neighborhood watch"-plus-maybe-enforcement system called the "Allied Eye" project—which Archie absolutely will not sign on for.

the Marvel Multiverse RPG is releasing an expansion called "Deadpool Role-Plays the Marvel Universe"
It combines a typically meta story by Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe writer Cullen Bunn and art from Mike Shelfer with a one-shot scenario that similarly plays with the fourth wall.
